Fairy Tales Revealed!
Fairy tales and folklore are my guilty pleasures, and reading the 'classics' as an adult has only added to my respect for them as social tools and just plan sit-around-the-fire fun. I don't think that I've ever mentioned that I attend an all-female college, so the theme of this comic seems a bit along the feminist vein (I'm all for equal rights of men and women but I'm also very aware that as a woman, yes, I happen to be a bit different from men). After watching Disney's Beauty and the Beast (which is one of my favorite movies) and having to right a paper comparing it to the original de Beaumont tale I have concluded that the film pretty much upholds the patriarchal system and "women are still seen as a beautiful bride while men have the opportunity to be beastly. " Yep, still love the movie though. I wanna be an (animated) princess.
Drew this a while ago but took a long time to clean up because of my rather lame coloring capabilities. A few more to come in the future but probably not in color.

First, Belle and Adam's engagement period actually took a significant amount of time.
Second, whoever said that Belle's "Stockholm Syndrome" invalidates her role model status doesn't realize that she only comes around to Adam (who was the Beast's actual name) when he stops abusing her.
Finally, I have a feeling that she's not going to just be content at the usual princess things.
